Free Me From Fear

There is so much fear in the world, both collectively and personally. I wrote this chant to sing powerfully when fear threatens to paralyze, to contract and collapse us. Not to ignore very real circumstances and their accompanying fear, but to help in not being overwhelmed by them! This chant strongly supports us in actively embracing the light when the dark looms large, and in being able to expand our awareness so that it is big enough to hold it all, including our fear.

This chant is not a call to escape fear, but to cease being run by it. I love the heartfelt longing that run through it, a longing that is more powerful than any fear.

Stevin really captured the anthemic feel I wanted here; when I listen to or sing this chant, I feel as if I am on an ancient battleground, ready to face whatever is coming!

Free Me From Fear

(For liberating us from the grip of fear)

Free me from fear, oh Mother
And fill me with your light
Free me from fear, oh Mother
And fill me with your light
Fill me with the rays of the rising sun
Fill me when the day is done
And shine, shine through me
Shine, shine through me
